For your first AEP appointment, you should expect to have a 30 to 45 minute sit down consult where we discuss your health and fitness goals.
During that session, we will determine your baseline physical capacity through some basic assessments.
These might include:
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Where relevant, basic upper and lower body strength measures.
- Joint range of motion testing
- Submaximal aerobic capacity assessment
We will also conduct a basic movement assessment so we can gain an understanding of how you move, what it looks like when you move, what tasks you find challenging and see what movements you’re really competent with.
This is so we have some baseline objective data to compare to later down the treatment plan.
Initial Assessment
During initial assessment you also complete force plate assessments, so you can get a broad understanding of your whole body strength and capacity.
During the session we’ll clarify what your exercise goals are. We’ll then establish the best routine or the best pathway on how to accomplish those goals, making sure that what we plan to do is grounded in evidence-based practice.
Our expert and high level coaching and experience will also guide us in program development.
Your Program Is Tailored To You
When we develop and establish your goals, we’ll then develop a program that is best suited to your capacity, your ideals and understanding of exercise, making sure that your exercise program is designed to best suited you.
It isn’t a cookie cutter approach, it is really individually designed, tailored exercise programs to help achieve your individual goals in a way that suits you best.
A Private, Comfortable Space
Your initial consult will take place in a private, comfortable space where you won’t feel crowded or on display. You’ll have the room to yourself, and we’ll make sure you feel welcomed and at ease from the moment you arrive.
The session will move at a pace that feels right for you. Our focus is on ensuring you feel supported, listened to, and genuinely cared for throughout your first appointment.
