Human movement involves a complex conversation between your brain and your body. We see movement as an opportunity to create a physical challenge to the tissues of the body.

This challenge can be regenerative or demanding in a way that promotes repair, restoration and maintenance to your physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing. 

Our training sessions are designed for you to move in an organic manner – multi directional, purposed and levelled. Creating these challenges reinforce successful movement patterns, builds confidence and destresses the tissues.

Our MOVE group fitness class is modelled on this training principle. 

Recovery is often an overlooked component of training and everyday living. Our approach to recovery is to prepare the body’s tissues for the adaptation of the stresses implemented through the rigours of overloading the body, so you can continue to move better, feel better and be happy! 

We approach recovery by considering some of these factors: 

Lymphatic flow. The lymphatic system is essential for maintaining good health as it eliminates waste products, toxins, and excess fluids from the body. Unlike the circulatory system, which is aided by the heart to pump blood, the lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pumping mechanism. It depends on muscle movement, intestinal contractions, and lung function to assist in flushing out toxins. We incorporate whole body vibration into our recovery training to promote the required stimulus for healthier lymphatic flow and function.  

Circulation. Being adequately hydrated is significant in general wellbeing and the recovery process.  Movement improves blood circulation which feeds muscle and bone tissue with nutrients and oxygen, while carrying away waste products. This assists with a faster recovery process and less post-workout soreness. 

Fascial health. To put it simply, fascia is tissue that connects all our body’s systems and tissues together. It has many functions and can be trained, much like training for musculoskeletal strength and conditioning. Keeping your fascia healthy is great for fitness performance, but it’s most important for just being able to move freely and effectively in everyday life! 

At Wellstrong, we refer to Performance as loading the tissues of the body with mechanical stress in a positive, life-like and sports specific manner can improve results in the gym or on the sporting field. 

Performance is about optimising tissue loading and stress to elicit change, relative to a client’s specific goals, regardless of what level athlete or exercise enthusiast they are.   

Performance in sport is measured by endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, speed, agility and mental control.  

Our PERFORM group fitness classes include compound strength movements that ensure our clients experience an increase in strength and power.

We offer high performance testing for athletes and the general population in our private one-on-one personal training sessions, or you can book in for a testing session to measure your progress and the success of your training program.
