I feel proud to have opened Guildford’s very first dedicated health and wellbeing center! 🏢 It’s a space where our community can come together, move, lift, play and achieve their goals.

Wellstrong has grown from a part-time room with a few bits and pieces to a multiple location, professional and dedicated health service, with qualified and expert coaches and allied health professionals.

We aim to deliver a service and experience that goes above and beyond generic gym and health services.

Lilliana is training at Wellstrong to build power and speed as a multi-sport athlete. Lilly’s sports (jumping and rowing) require development of muscular power and endurance.

Lilly trains with us in the gym when her busy school schedule permits as well as following an online program that she completes at her school gym. Her program is specifically tailored to her age, ability and goals and this helps enjoy her sport and experience progress year after year whilst minimising the risk of injuries.

Our coaches design these circuit style sessions catering for all levels of fitness and ability. We aim to deliver the experience possible along with exceptional health and fitness outcomes.

Want to add a finishing circuit to your workout that hits your biceps, shoulders and gets your heart pumping? Try this:

1A - box squat to overhead press
1B - double bicep curl
1C - diagonal step with double lift
1D - double hammer curl

Use the same weight dumbbell for each movement. Perform 10 reps of each set with no rest in between sets. Rest for 1 minute or until you’re ready to go again at the end of the circuit then hit it again!

Here’s a challenging and rewarding circuit that we often work with here at Wellstrong.

Choose 4 movements that compliment each other (for example - push and pull, squat and lift, anterior and posterior).

Perform the movments in a set circuit with the first exercise being 5 reps, second exercise at 8 reps, third exercise at 10 reps and, the fourth exercise at 12 reps.

Take 15 seconds rest between sets with as much rest as you need to at the end of the last set before starting the next round. Perform this circuit 3-4 times.

The lower rep range exercises should be quite heavy and the higher rep ranges should be a moderate weight. Always work at a weight where you can maintain excellent technique and control of the movement without failure

Enjoy the gains in strength, endurance and aerobic capacity!

Whole body movements, or compound movements, engage long fascial chains as opposed to isolated muscle centric movements.

This style of movement training can enhance communication within the body’s systems (muscular, skeletal and neural to name a few).

Building efficiency in these movements has shown to fine tune the switching on and off of muscles which can result in better performance and less injuries for all populations.
